Waking up to Alarms. . . Not a Pleasant Experience
So two saturdays ago, I was enjoying sleeping in because that is what saturday's are for. Now sleeping until nine is great, but any longer is even better. I was planning to sleep until at least ten if not eleven. At nine o'clock my roommates alarm went off. No big deal, because she quickly turned it off. I was still pretty out of it then, so about ten minutes later another alarm went off. Again she turned it off quickly and I fell back asleep, only to be woken up what seemed like one minute later to the alarm going off again. She turned it of again and we both went back to sleep. It went off again in no time at all. And again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again etc. After being woken up about ten times, I finally freaked out in my head and was like holy cow there are so many alarms. What is going on? I thought. I was awake by now, wishing, just wishing I could sleep peacefully. Then I realized the alarms were going off very soon after one another. I decided to time them, so I counted in my head the seconds between each alarm. The first one was about 30 seconds, the second about 2 minutes. What the heck is going on? I thought to myself. The alarms continued to go off about every minute or so. Finally at 9:45 I got out of bed and got in the shower. I couldn't believe what had just happened to me. My whole saturday morning RUINED!!! by an alarm going off every minute for 45 min. Later I asked my roommate jokingly if she really had alarms going off every minute that morning. Apparently, she set 57, let me repeat FIFTY-SEVEN!!!!!!!!!! alarms that morning so that she would wake up. REALLY? REALLY! Great. My roommate is a great person, but please, have mercy on a poor soul. The ironic part of the whole situation, is that I actually got up before her, because her alarm was going off. Nice. I hadn't even set an alarm that morning, with the hopes of sleeping in until I awoke on my own. Well, even the best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray.
